Artifactural Furniture & Design, Inc., found its niche incorporating reclaimed historical architecture into custom created interior decor. The company owners, Amy Brinkman (and her late husband Robert) came up with the concept over two decades ago, realizing the rich value - both environmentally and historically-of using antique or vintage materials.
Every piece is inventoried and stored in their 5,000 square foot shop located in Barrington, Illinois. After reclaiming the wood materials, Amy Brinkman's crew proceeds to design and build for every project - staying true to Bob's tradition of incorporating the customer’s specific requests and choices for an exceptional finished outcome.
Each project is hand-made and finished using three varieties of finsihes: all natural hand-rubbed bees waxes, English tongue oil, or clear coat choices. The process in general takes about eight weeks (depending on scope of the project). Everything from simple tables to entire restarants have been created in Artifactural’s signature “casual elegance” style. The heavier dimensions and thicker details give every piece a warm yet masculine feel.
